Welcome to our Newsletter. Our winter is certainly here with a run of Foggy/Chilly days.
WOMEN IN STITCHES DINNERS:
Our first dinner for the year raised over $1700 which we donated to Sophie Freischmidt’s daughter Anne to help with the bills. Anne is the carer for her son Mitchell who has Leukemia. The strain that he has at the moment is unlike any they have seen before, so professionals from all over the world are working on it. Anne was in tears on the phone, so grateful. At our Auction, we sold off Libby Pearson’s Fabric Stash. Our 2nd Dinner raised $700. The next dinner will be held on 26 July.
WOMEN IN STITCHES:
The 2017 Challenge is 42 Squares. For some reason this has been a bit more difficult than the circles. Who would have thought. We only have 20 entries. Check them out at Strictly Quilts from 8 July until 16 July. Our entries of Quilts is about the same as last year.

Some news around my little patch:
Our long awaited extension of our family room has been finished and the space is wonderful. Phil dug the holes for the stumps early last year and with the permit taking time and the rain, it is finally done.
Phil and I had a week off to go to a Wedding in Coffs Harbour, for my cousins daughter Lauren. Was supposed to be on the beach but they had rain and we had to have it in the Surf Club were the reception was. Lovely to be with my Aunty Letty and my cousins and their children. Spud, Tink and Tank had to be left home alone with our friends looking after them. Spud was so happy to see Phil back and Tink wouldn’t leave me alone. Great to be loved by our furry babies.
Our Son in Law came out to OZ for a short visit to a Wedding of one of his friends. Was great to see Jay and get our parcel of photos of the Grandies. Jay told us that they will be coming out next July for a couple of weeks which did bring much joy to our hearts to see the grandies at our place. Raelene has been working hard as she is manager of a couple of the branches of the accounting firm that they both work for.
Belle has completed her first year at school. Annie had to have her photo taken twenty times before she smiled for her Dance Class. Billy is a dab hand at the Ice hockey stick and loves going to see the Sharks.
At Easter we went to Perth to see Megan and Greg and of course Cricket and Saffron. The dogs were so happy to see us (And so was Megan and Greg). Greg had had an operation on his foot so we just did some easy day trips.
October we are off to the states to see everybody and of course off to Houston for the Quilt Mart.
