My Little Patch Newsletter – January 2018

Welcome to 2018 and what a year we are going to have. 2017 went so fast with lots of laughter and some tears. We said goodbye to Libby Pearson and Joan Sheridan. I am sure that they are still with us around the table. With our time being so short sometimes, it is so important that we make time for ourselves and get into our creating. The joy and pleasure that it gives is great. The hot weather has been very testing for us all but it is summer.
New ranges coming soon will be Tulia Pinks, more Kaffe Fassett, French General and more. And of course more WOWs.

SCRAPS OF THIS AND THAT:

With the passing of our Joanie, our Matriarch position had become available. This is now filled by our lovely Sophie. Sophie has been letting us know that she is the oldest now. So befitting her position, I gave her a hip flask to keep her Vodka in, as a bottle was not a good look for a woman of her stature. Whenever I go overseas, I get Sophie the small bottles which she has informed me that she has 15. Peter her husband keeps his eye on them.

October saw us over to the States to see the Storks. This was our first time in their new home. No more stairs. We got to do Grandparent things with Belle, Annie and Billy. We got the kids new bikes for Christmas and of course they got them early. We all went off to an Ice Hockey match which is just as fast and interesting as our Football. Great match with the Sharks playing Canada.
We then went off to Austin Texas and had a great time with our friend Neil and his wife Gay. Meet their French Bulldog Newman, who is a sweetie. Neil took us down to Houston for the Quilt Mart and was gob smacked by all of the lovely Quilts and displays. We ran into lots of Aussies either selling or buying. Good to see that we have a presence there.

While we were away Marg’s daughter Lyn and her daughter house sat for us. She had Spud trimmed down and the cats did bring her presents. Lyn also found the Huntsman that we left for Halloween. One night the noise from the Bull was too much and she went and stayed at her mums. There was even a dead cow that she had to confirm it was dead and her students had a great discussion with her about how it had died. Lyn had a great taste of farm life. Not sure that they liked the farm life.

For Christmas, Phil and I went to Perth to Megan and Greg’s. Of course there was work for us both but we didn’t mind. I did 3 Jigsaw puzzles with Megan. While we were there, Megan had some friends over and the partner of Megan’s friend is Jude from Edgars Newsagency’s brother. Small world. They took us for a drive to some old towns and at Northam there was some great painted Silos.
Sophie, Rhonda, Lee-Anne and myself went to Opera in the Alps on Saturday. Great experience and venue. So we are going next year.
